Stiffs!

STIFFS

2012; the year of the apocalypse! And it's cooler than that, because it's the year of the ZOMBIE apocalypse, and it's happening everywhere, even in South Wales… where, this fantastic 5 part comic is set!

Stiffs, from Dead Star Publishing and the writer of 'The Pride' tells the story of one man in a zombie apocalypse in South Wales… one man, and his monkey. But this book is not one of doom and gloom, far from it, there are moments of sheer hilarity, wittiness and plot twists which demand you read more.

The characters are a good group of Welsh folk, and undead Welshmen and Welshladies… oh, and a monkey. Did I mention our monkey friend Kenny McMonkey? The pot smoking, "brains" (no pun intended) of the operation and best friend of our lead character who is, you guessed it, a zombie hunter. Not even Planet of the Apes offers you a zombie hunting, pot smoking, sass talking, über cool monkey like Kenny. This book is easily one of our most looked forward to releases in the comic book world, and from a fantastic independent company, what more could you want!?

We're excited to announce we will be having an in store signing for this fantastic independent comic in the very near future, so please keep an eye on our blog here, or through or YouTube, Twitter, Facebook or website for more information.

Stiff signing tomorrow (20/08/2011)

Following on from the success of last week's Interactives signing Comic Guru is proud to announce that the next guests in 8th anniversary countdown celebrations will be none other than Patrick Mongomery and Joe Glass, two of the creative minds behind Stiffs! Stiff is a dark comedy set in the hills of Wales, and follows the exploits of zombie hunter Don Daniels and his monkey sidekick Kenny. Stiffs is created and written by Glass, Montgomery and Drew Davies, with art by Gavin Mitchell and Adam Cadwell.

With only 50 copies of their flip book left, this is a great opportunity to pick up a copy and get it signed ahead of the Stiffs issue one launch from Deadstar Publishing later on this year. The signing starts at noon, and please keep in mind that in addition to supporting local talent every copy purchased will be contributing to publishing costs for the issue 1 release.

On a sadder note Comic Guru regrets to inform that Simon Williams will be unable to attend the signing tomorrow for personal reasons. We are obviously disappointed to have lost a talent of this calibre from our line up, but would like to wish Simon all the best.

So what do they do? Become kick-ass zombie hunters, naturally! But there's more going on in those deep dark woods than any of them is ready for...

Stiffs is created and written by Drew Davies, PJ Montgomery and Joe Glass, with art by Gavin Mitchell and Adam Cadwell; The Pride is created and written by Joe Glass with art by Gavin Mitchell and Kris Carter.

These comics projects have something for everyone, and there'll be big things for both in the future! So get involved and see what you can expect ready for the Big Launch of both comics in the latter half of 2011!
